Heal
Heal is the Acolyte’s bread-and-butter healing ability — a single-target heal on a 2-second cooldown. It’s the foundation of every healer build and remains relevant through endgame thanks to its short cooldown and low Mana cost.
How it works
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Active |
| Target | Single ally |
| Cooldown | 2s |
| Element | Holy |
| Resource cost | 20 Mana |
| Cast time | 1.5s |
| Heal amount | 180 + 35% of spell power |
Heal restores a flat 180 HP plus 35% of the caster’s spell power. The 1.5s cast time is interruptible, so healers must position carefully or pair it with Blessing (interrupt immunity) before committing.
Healing priority
The standard healer priority list:
- Tank — keep above 70% HP at all times.
- Self — don’t die to incidental damage.
- DPS — heal as needed, prioritize squishies (Rogue, Mage).
The full priority framework is on the Priest wiki page.
When to invest
Max Heal first. Despite later spells like Sacred Aegis and Mass Heal offering higher throughput, Heal’s short cooldown makes it the most-used healing ability in the kit.
Scaling
Heal scales with:
- Spell power (linear, 35% coefficient)
- Healing bonus % from gear (additive)
- Heal rank (5% per rank, max 5)
Endgame healers with the Mitre of Sanctity and full Sanctum of Light 4-piece set push Heal’s throughput to ~12,000 HP per cast.
FAQ
Q: Can Heal crit? A: Yes — crits double the healed amount. Healer builds often stack crit chance to ~30% by endgame.
Q: Does Heal work in PvP? A: Yes, but the 1.5s cast time makes it very punishable. PvP healers typically use Flash Heal (instant, lower throughput) instead.
Q: Is Heal Mana-efficient? A: Yes — 20 Mana for 180 + 35% spell power is one of the best HP-per-Mana ratios in the game. The trade-off is the cast time.
