Hunter's Mark

Scout's debuff — marks a target for 12s, increasing damage taken from your attacks by 25%.

Hunter’s Mark

Hunter’s Mark is the Scout’s signature debuff — a single-target mark that lasts 12 seconds and causes the target to take 25% more damage from your attacks. It is the keystone of every Scout and Gunslinger PvE build.

How it works

TypeActive
TargetSingle enemy
Cooldown6s

Resource cost15 Mana
Cast timeInstant
Duration12s
Damage amp+25% from your attacks

Hunter’s Mark is a pure debuff — it deals no damage on cast. While active, your attacks against the marked target deal 25% more damage. The debuff does not stack; re-casting refreshes the duration.

Rotation

The standard Scout rotation is Hunter’s Mark → Multi Shot → Caltrops:

  1. Hunter’s Mark the priority target — opens your damage window.
  2. Multi Shot to apply damage during the buff window.
  3. Caltrops under the target to slow and damage.
  4. Multi Shot on cooldown throughout the 12s window.

The full PvE rotation is on the Gunslinger wiki page.

Synergies

Hunter’s Mark has a hidden interaction with Multistrike — Multistrike procs triggered during the Mark window also benefit from the 25% damage amp. This is what makes the Scout / Gunslinger burst so high in single-target PvE.

When to invest

Max Hunter’s Mark second, after Multi Shot. The 25% damage amp is too valuable to skip, but it doesn’t directly increase your damage output — it amplifies the damage you already deal.

FAQ

Q: Does Hunter’s Mark work on bosses? A: Yes — it’s one of the few debuffs that works on bosses.

Q: Does the 25% damage amp work for party members? A: No — only your attacks benefit from the amp. Other party members’ damage is unaffected.

Q: Can the mark be removed? A: Bosses and elites cannot remove debuffs. Trash mobs can be Dispel’d by Acolyte / Priest Cleanse, but Mark is rarely a dispel priority.
