Pact of Stone Card

The Pact of Stone Card is a Lv 40 epic card that drops from a hidden chest in Bastion Keep. The +10% HP / +5% Defense combo makes it the endgame card for any tanking build, replacing the Snarling Boar Card at Lv 40.

How to get it

The Pact of Stone Card drops from a hidden chest in the crypt beneath Bastion Keep. The chest spawns only after:

  1. All 4 sarcophagi are opened.
  2. The party speaks the phrase “Pact of stone, hold fast” at the central altar (any party member).
  3. The chest spawns in the western alcove.

Drop rate is 6% per qualifying clear on Standard, 12% on Hard. Expect 8-15 clears on average.

Best recipients

  • Knight — BiS card for tanking builds through Lv 95+.
  • Paladin — BiS for tanking builds; healers swap to the Mitre of Sanctity instead.
  • Warrior / Berserker — usable but suboptimal; they prefer damage-scaling cards.

Card stacking

Cards do not stack — equipping the same card twice does nothing. Common endgame loadouts for Knights:

  1. Pact of Stone (+10% HP, +5% Defense)
  2. Iron Sentinel (+5% Guard effectiveness)
  3. Snarling Boar (+6% Vitality — still useful at endgame)
  4. Whetstone (+3% Attack Speed) or Iron Wall (+8% Defense)

This 4-card combo gives +16% effective HP and +13% Defense — the foundation of any Lv 80+ tanking build.

FAQ

Q: Can the Pact of Stone Card drop at legendary rarity? A: No — it’s locked at epic in Early Access.

Q: Is the +10% HP additive with the Iron Will set bonus? A: Yes — additive. With Iron Will 4-piece (+8% HP) + Pact of Stone (+10% HP) + Snarling Boar (+6% Vitality), you get +18% HP plus the Vitality bonus.

Q: Can the hidden altar chest be cheesed? A: No — the chest is bound to the qualifying clear. Re-entering the dungeon without re-doing the steps won’t spawn it again.
