Skill Passive

Multistrike

Passive on-hit proc that triggers an extra weapon swing. The keystone of every physical DPS build.

Multistrike

Multistrike is the keystone passive for every physical DPS build in SpiritVale. Each successful weapon swing has a chance to fire a second free attack with 60% of the original damage. Stacking Multistrike procs is how physical classes scale into the endgame — Berserker and Gunslinger in particular build their entire rotations around the proc.

How it works

PropertyValue
TypePassive
TargetSelf (on-hit proc)
Cooldown
ElementPhysical
Resource costNone
Proc chance12% per rank (max 5 ranks = 60%)
Proc damage60% of original hit

The second hit cannot itself proc Multistrike — there is a 0.4s internal cooldown between proc checks. This prevents infinite chain-procs in long fights.

Who benefits

Multistrike is shared by the entire physical-DPS tree:

  • Warrior / Berserker — front-loads Cyclone damage; every Cyclone tick has its own proc roll.
  • Rogue / Shinobi — adds burst to backstab chains; the Multistrike proc ignores positional bonuses.
  • Scout / Gunslinger — procs on every rifle shot, including the Multistrike-stacking Talent tree.
  • Knight / Paladin — usable but rarely specced; tank builds prefer Shield Bash uptime.

Stacking breakpoints

Multistrike rankProc chanceNotes
112%Soft cap — diminishing returns past 40%
336%First major DPS breakpoint for leveling
560%Endgame cap; further points transfer to ATK

Endgame builds treat 60% as the soft cap. The remaining Talent points go to ATK scaling or Multistrike Damage (a separate stat that boosts the proc hit’s multiplier from 60% to ~75%).

Rotation impact

On Berserker, the Cyclone + Multistrike interaction is what makes the Berserker rotation work. Each Cyclone tick rolls Multistrike independently, so over a 4-second channel you expect ~2.4 procs.

FAQ

Q: Does Multistrike work with summoned weapons? A: Only the Necromancer’s Skeletal Warriors can carry Multistrike through pets. Other summons don’t transfer proc chance.

Q: Is Multistrike worth it on a tank? A: Generally no. Knight and Paladin tanks gain more from Shield Bash uptime and Guard duration than from a passive proc.

Q: How does Multistrike interact with crit? A: Each Multistrike proc is its own crit roll. Critting on both hits is the single biggest damage spike in the game.
