Berserker Lv1–70 Cyclone Leveling Build
The Berserker is the highest sustained DPS class in SpiritVale, but only when you commit to its windowed playstyle. This build turns the Berserk → Multistrike → Cyclone core into a self-perpetuating engine that melts trash packs in Sunny Meadows and lets you solo Echoing Grotto bosses from Lv 30 onward.
It evolved from the Berserker wiki entry — read that first if you want the full skill tree breakdown.
Overview
The rotation is built around a single insight: Cyclone scales with attack speed, and attack speed skyrockets inside Berserk. Outside Berserk you build Fury; inside, you spend it all on Cyclone and Heavy Strike to maximise Multistrike procs.
You will spend roughly:
- 60% of your time inside Berserk windows (post-Lv 40)
- 30% building Fury
- 10% repositioning with Wild Charge
This is not a beginner build. The Berserker has no innate mobility and demands positioning discipline. But the damage ceiling is unmatched.
Stat priority
- Strength — primary. Every point compounds inside Berserk.
- Agility — crit and attack speed. Cyclone hits 6 times per second at 30% attack speed from gear alone.
- Vitality — secondary. Frenzy rewards missing HP, but you still need a baseline pool to survive boss one-shots.
Breakpoint to chase: 40% crit chance with full buffs by Lv 60. Crits trigger Multistrike at twice the rate of non-crits, and Multistrike inside Berserk is the entire reason this build works.
Skill rotation
Pre-Lv 30: build Fury, hold Cyclone
Before you unlock Berserk at Lv 30, the build is straightforward:
- Heavy Strike on cooldown (builds 20 Fury per hit)
- Cleave to AoE packs (refunds 10 Fury on 3+ targets)
- Cyclone only when you have 80+ Fury (avoid the wasted damage window)
Lv 30+: enter Berserk windows
Once Berserk unlocks:
- Open with Heavy Strike × 3 to bank 60 Fury
- Activate Berserk (60s CD, 12s duration)
- Cyclone until Berserk ends
- Heavy Strike × 5 to refill Fury
- Repeat
Inside Berserk, Cyclone consumes 50 Fury for +50% damage. At 100 Fury you start, you’ll exit Berserk at roughly 10–20 Fury depending on crit procs.
Lv 50+: Multistrike passive changes everything
At Lv 50, the Multistrike passive kicks in: 30% chance to strike twice, rising to 100% inside Berserk at 100 Fury. With Multistrike active, every Cyclone hit becomes two hits. Your sustained DPS doubles during Berserk windows.
This is when the build transitions from “good” to “the best in the game”.
Equipment & cards
Weapons
- Lv 1–20: any spear with strength substats. Weapon choice barely matters in Sunny Meadows.
- Lv 20–40: Iron Will Spear (wiki entry) — the Lv 40 BiS until you reach The Echoing Spire.
- Lv 40–60: Bastion Spear (wiki entry) — +12% Berserk damage, mandatory.
Armor
- Iron Will 4-piece set (wiki: Iron Will Helm + Iron Will Chest). 4-piece bonus: +12% Berserk damage.
- Slot gloves/boots from any strength-set you have; the set bonus isn’t worth chasing until Iron Will 4-piece.
Cards
- Fury Stone — base Warrior card, mandatory.
- Pact of Stone (wiki entry) — endgame card, slot it the moment you unlock it.
- Endless Frenzy (Lv 85 dungeon) — Berserk windows last 3s longer. Game-changing.
Leveling path (Lv 1–70)
| Level | Zone | Goal |
|---|---|---|
| 1–15 | Sunny Meadows 1 | Unlock Berserker at Lv 50 (you’re still Warrior here) |
| 15–25 | Sunny Meadows 2 | Stack Iron Will set pieces |
| 25–35 | Windy Desert | First Berserk windows, learn the rotation |
| 35–45 | Mystic Lake | Solo Echoing Grotto bosses |
| 45–55 | Sunken Depths | Multistrike fully online; farm Iron Will upgrades |
| 55–70 | The Echoing Spire | Pre-endgame gear, stat breakpoints to 40% crit |
By Lv 70 you should be clearing T1 Echoing Spire bosses in under a minute.
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
- Highest sustained single-target DPS in the game
- Self-sustaining rotation (Rampage refunds Fury on kill)
- Multistrike + Berserk + Cyclone is a clean three-skill combo
Weaknesses
- Zero mobility. No Dodge Roll, no Shadow Step.
- Defensive cooldowns are limited. You’re committing to the fight.
- Long ramp time — Berserker feels weak until Lv 30.
FAQ
Q: Can I switch to a defensive build later? A: Not really. Frenzy rewards missing HP, so you’re stronger when hurt. If you want defensive play, advance into Paladin instead.
Q: Why does my Berserk reset not trigger? A: Rampage only resets Berserk on kill, not on damage. Trash mobs that don’t die won’t trigger it. Use Cyclone first to clear packs, then Rampage triggers on the kill.
Q: Is Multistrike mandatory? A: Yes. Without Multistrike, Berserk is just +60% damage for 12s. With Multistrike, it doubles your effective hits per second. The whole build crumbles without it.
