The Echoing Spire — 50-Floor Dungeon Walkthrough

The Echoing Spire is the deepest dungeon in SpiritVale — a 50-floor vertical descent carved into the western edge of the Windy Desert, sealed since the Sundering and reopened only to those strong enough to claim what lies at its bottom. This walkthrough covers every floor tier, the mini-boss cadence, the First Knight’s Legacy questline, and the Floor 50 capstone that ends with the Echoing Spire Warden encounter documented in our dedicated Echoing Spire Warden strategy guide.

The boss wiki page (Echoing Spire Warden) has the full loot table; this guide is the route strategy and dungeon walkthrough.

Overview

The Echoing Spire is a single contiguous dungeon with 50 floors of vertical progression. Each floor is instanced and unlocks the next floor once cleared. The Spire follows a strict 10-floor cadence: every 10 floors a mini-boss (or full boss) gates the next tier.

Key facts:

  • Dungeon: 50 floors, vertical layout, single instance per party
  • Recommended level: 85-95 (entry 85, Warden 95)
  • Recommended party size: 4 players
  • Mini-bosses: Floors 10, 20, 30, 40 (every 10 floors)
  • Final boss: Echoing Spire Warden on Floor 50 (Lv 95, 3-phase)
  • Questline: The First Knight’s Legacy — 5 journal entries scattered across floors 10, 20, 30, 40, 50
  • Hard enrage on Floor 50: 8 minutes (boss deals 10x damage and gains 100% attack speed)
  • Total XP to clear: ~4.2 million (full Lv 85 → Lv 95 progression)
  • Recommended build: see Party composition below

Floor-by-floor walkthrough

The Spire is divided into 5 tiers of 10 floors each. Each tier introduces new mob families, new mechanics, and ends with a mini-boss.

Floors 1-10 — Sand-Soaked Threshold (Lv 85-87)

The first 10 floors establish the Spire’s rhythm: tight corridors, sand-floored chambers, and weak trash that scales gently upward.

  • Mob families: Sand Scuttlers (small crawlers), Dust Remnants (skeletal mob variants), and the first Echo Acolytes
  • Mechanics introduced: minor environmental hazards — sand drifts that slow movement; falling sand that deals small chip damage
  • Quests per floor: 2-3 side quests per floor, plus the First Knight’s Legacy Journal Entry I on Floor 10

Strategy: Burn through 1-7 quickly. Save cooldowns for Floor 8 (first elite gauntlet) and Floor 10 (mini-boss).

Floors 11-20 — The Mirror Halls (Lv 87-89)

The middle of this tier introduces the Mirror Knight’s domain — halls of polished obsidian that reflect your skills back at you.

  • Mob families: Mirror Remnants, Glass Wisps, Refracted Acolytes
  • Mechanics introduced: mirror tiles — standing on them reflects your last skill back toward you; reflect damage scales with your own attack power
  • Elite gauntlet: Floor 18 (3x Refracted Acolyte elites)
  • Mini-boss (Floor 20): Mirror Knight (Lv 90 elite)

Floors 21-30 — The Void Crescents (Lv 89-91)

The walls shift from obsidian to a deep violet-black stone, and Void-touched mobs begin to appear.

  • Mob families: Void Remnants, Eclipse Wisps, Null Acolytes
  • Mechanics introduced: Void rifts — ground patches that drain mana and silence skills on contact; cannot be dispelled
  • Elite gauntlet: Floor 28 (2x Void Sentinel mobs — precursors to the floor 30 boss)
  • Mini-boss (Floor 30): Void Sentinel (Lv 92 elite)

Floors 31-40 — The Knight’s Antechamber (Lv 91-93)

The Spire transitions from generic dungeon to a living memorial. Statues of knights line the corridors, and inscribed walls tell fragments of Sir Aldous the First’s story.

  • Mob families: Twilight Remnants, Acolyte Champions, Spire Wraiths
  • Mechanics introduced: statue activation — leaving a torch unlit near a statue spawns a Spire Wraith every 30s; lighting the torch stops the spawns
  • Elite gauntlet: Floor 38 (3x Acolyte Champions)
  • Mini-boss (Floor 40): Spire Warden Champion (Lv 94 mini-boss)

Floors 41-50 — The Deepest Vault (Lv 93-95)

The final tier is the Spire’s deepest vault. Atmosphere shifts from dungeon to sacred reliquary — the air is thick, and the Aegis of the First Knight is sealed here behind the Warden.

  • Mob families: Vault Remnants, Crystalline Wisps, Acolyte Vanguard
  • Mechanics introduced: crystal pillars — destroying them grants a stacking damage buff to the boss; leave them intact until Phase 2 of the Warden fight
  • Floor 50: Echoing Spire Warden (Lv 95 boss, full 3-phase encounter)

Strategy: Floors 41-49 are a victory lap — clear steadily, conserve cooldowns, and prepare for the Warden. Full strategy lives in the dedicated Echoing Spire Warden strategy guide.

Gear milestones

The Spire journey has 4 gear breakpoints that gate progression:

  1. Lv 85 entry — full Iron Will 4-piece required. Below this, even Floor 10’s mini-boss one-shots squishies.
  2. Lv 87 — Mirror Knight’s Mirror Shard (rare drop, 15%) — used in the Mirror Plate chest upgrade.
  3. Lv 91 — Void Sentinel’s Echo Core (rare drop, 12%) — required for the Void-Touched weapons set, the BiS pre-Warden weapons for Lv 91-94.
  4. Lv 95 — Aegis of the First Knight drop on Floor 50. Legendary shield wielded by Sir Aldous the First during the Sundering. Drop rate is 25% — see the Aegis of the First Knight wiki for full stats. This is the endgame BiS shield for every Paladin build.

The Warden also drops the Iron Will Spear at 100% rate on any clear — this is no longer BiS at Lv 95, but it’s required for the First Knight’s Legacy questline completion.

The First Knight’s Legacy quest

The First Knight’s Legacy is a 5-step questline that tracks Sir Aldous the First — founder of the Knight order during the Sundering — through journal entries hidden across the Spire. Completing the questline unlocks the Aegis cosmetic variant (“Knight’s Remembrance”) and 50,000 gold.

Quest walkthrough

Step 1 — Floor 10: The First Entry

  • Find the journal on a stone desk in the southwest chamber of Floor 10
  • Journal Entry I describes Aldous’s descent into the Spire to “seal the relic that broke the Sundering”
  • Turn in to the Spire Cartographer NPC at the floor 10 waypoint

Step 2 — Floor 20: The Mirror’s Truth

  • The journal is hidden behind the second mirror tile in the Mirror Knight’s arena
  • Defeat the Mirror Knight, then click the now-accessible wall panel
  • Journal Entry II reveals Aldous’s growing suspicion that the Aegis had corrupted him

Step 3 — Floor 30: The Void Confession

  • A floating journal inside a Void rift on Floor 30 — stand on the rift to silence yourself, then click the journal
  • Journal Entry III is Aldous’s final lucid entry: he seals himself with the Aegis so no one else can claim it
  • This is the lore payoff — explains why the Aegis is sealed in the deepest vault

Step 4 — Floor 40: The Champion’s Vow

  • Journal is on the Spire Warden Champion’s corpse after the mini-boss is defeated
  • Journal Entry IV is a vow from Aldous’s second-in-command to “test all who would claim what Aldous guarded”
  • This explains the Warden’s existence — it’s the second-in-command’s last command

Step 5 — Floor 50: The Final Seal

  • The final journal is on the Warden’s body after the kill
  • Journal Entry V is a single line: “May the next who holds me be worthy.”
  • Turn in to the Spire Cartographer for the cosmetic variant and gold

Reward: Knight’s Remembrance Aegis (cosmetic variant) + 50,000 gold + the achievement “Legacy of Aldous”.

Endgame capstone

The Floor 50 Warden fight is the entire reason the Spire exists. The dungeon is structured to teach you the skills you need:

  • Floors 1-10: positioning and movement
  • Floors 11-20: managing reflected effects
  • Floors 21-30: handling silence and mana drain
  • Floors 31-40: multi-target mitigation
  • Floors 41-49: cooldown conservation
  • Floor 50: everything above, simultaneously, in an 8-minute window

The full Warden strategy — phases, party composition, gear breakpoints, and the exact enrage timer math — lives in the dedicated Echoing Spire Warden strategy guide. Do not attempt Floor 50 without reading it.

Strengths & weaknesses

Strengths

  • Best endgame XP/hour in the game — full clear yields ~4.2 million XP, enough for a fresh Lv 85 alt to hit 95 in one run
  • Clear progression narrative — the First Knight’s Legacy questline is the best-written lore content in EA 0.5.2
  • Aegis of the First Knight drop is the most prestigious shield in the game
  • Predictable mini-boss cadence — every 10 floors you know exactly what to expect
  • Replayable — every floor has 2-3 side quests worth running on alts

Weaknesses

  • No checkpoints — wiping on Floor 50 sends you back to Floor 1; the run takes ~2 hours to repeat
  • Void Sentinel’s silence cannot be dispelled — a single misposition can lock out the Priest for 8 seconds
  • Mirror Knight’s reflect mechanic punishes melee classes hard
  • Floor 50’s 8-minute hard enrage is unforgiving to undergeared groups — there is no skill-based workaround
  • The Spire has no trash loot worth mentioning — gold/hour is below Windy Desert surface grinding until Floor 30

FAQ

Q: Can I enter the Spire below Lv 85? A: Technically yes, but Floor 10’s Echoing Acolyte will one-shot you. The Lv 85 minimum is enforced by a hidden damage multiplier, not a level gate.

Q: Should I run the First Knight’s Legacy quest on every character? A: Yes, but only the first clear rewards the cosmetic and achievement. Subsequent completions reward 5,000 gold and are skippable.

Q: What happens if we wipe on Floor 50? A: The entire party is sent back to Floor 1. There are no checkpoints in the Spire. Plan accordingly — bring consumables and don’t rush the first 49 floors.

Q: Is the Aegis of the First Knight worth farming? A: Yes, if you’re a Paladin main — it’s the BiS shield for every shield-based build until the next major content patch. For non-Paladins, the cosmetic variant is the only reason to farm.

Q: Can I solo the Spire? A: Floors 1-30 are soloable by a Necromancer summon build. Floors 31-50 are technically soloable but require near-perfect execution and 30+ minute clear times. We strongly recommend a full 4-person party.
