Necromancer Solo Summoner PvE Build

The Necromancer is the only true Summon class in SpiritVale. Where the Wizard is direct elemental damage and the Priest is healing, the Necromancer commands an undead army that tanks, deals damage, and provides utility.

This build is the standard solo PvE loadout from Lv 50 through endgame, designed for efficient farming and boss solo attempts. The Necromancer is the best solo class in the game because summons tank everything for you.

It evolved from the Summoner wiki entry — read that first for the foundation.

Overview

The build’s core insight is summons scale with your stats:

Each undead summon inherits 60% of your Intelligence and 40% of your Vitality. Higher gear = exponentially more summon power.

This means the Necromancer’s power curve is smoother than any other class — you never hit a “dead zone” where your summons fall behind.

The build layers:

  • Skeleton Warriors (3 max) for sustained DPS
  • Bone Golem (1 max) for tanking
  • Bone Spear for burst single-target
  • Death Coil for sustain lifesteal
  • Frost Nova for emergency root

You are never in melee. Your summons engage first; you cast from range behind them.

Stat priority

  1. Intelligence — primary. Scales summon damage and Bone Spear.
  2. Vitality — secondary. Your summons inherit your HP pool.
  3. Wisdom — tertiary. Larger mana pool = more Death Coil sustain.

Breakpoint to chase: 2,500 Intelligence with full buffs by Lv 70. Below this, your summons fall behind boss damage output.

Skill rotation

Standard summon + cast rotation

  1. Pre-summon 3 Skeleton Warriors (10s duration each, refresh every 8s)
  2. Summon Bone Golem (60s duration)
  3. Bone Spear on cooldown for single-target burst
  4. Death Coil on cooldown for sustain (15% lifesteal)
  5. Frost Nova if anything reaches you

Boss opener (solo)

  1. Summon Bone Golem before the pull (it engages first)
  2. Summon 3 Skeleton Warriors immediately
  3. Bone Spear the boss
  4. Death Coil on yourself to sustain
  5. Re-summon golems/warriors as they expire
  6. Frost Nova if adds spawn

Trash farming rotation

  1. Summon Bone Golem at the start of the zone
  2. Summon 3 Skeleton Warriors
  3. Frost Nova packs as you walk through
  4. Bone Spear elites
  5. Death Coil yourself to full HP between pulls

Strengths & weaknesses

Strengths

  • Best solo class in the game — summons tank everything
  • Smoothest power curve — no dead zones
  • Strong in open-world content (farming, exploration)

Weaknesses

  • Slower than burst classes on AoE trash clears
  • Vulnerable when summons expire (Death Coil window)
  • Lower party utility than Priest/Wizard in group content

FAQ

Q: Can I play Necromancer in groups? A: Yes, but your role is hybrid DPS/Summon. A Priest Full Support is more valuable in groups than a Necromancer Summoner.

Q: When do I re-summon? A: Summons expire on a timer. Refresh Skeleton Warriors every 8 seconds (10s duration, 2s buffer). Refresh Bone Golem every 60 seconds.

Q: Why Death Coil over other sustain? A: Death Coil is a 15% lifesteal on a 6-second cooldown. It’s the most mana-efficient heal in the game for Necromancer. Heal is a panic button only.

Q: Is Necromancer good for beginners? A: Surprisingly, yes. The summons tank for you, so positioning mistakes are forgiving. The hard part is summon management — re-summoning on timers.
